Brockhampton Project – Reimagining Orchards

Leoni here. I’m getting in touch with Bromyard area groups/clubs/organisations/parishes regarding some work my organisation (ignite cic) are doing in the area (and I also live in Bromyard). We are working with National Trust Brockhampton to support the local community consultation and participation element for year 1 of their exciting Reimagining Orchards project (see press release for details).

I am getting in touch with you today, to let you know (and to ask you to share) details about the free community event we’re putting on next Sunday 23rdJune at BROMYARD PUBLIC HALL, where people can come and see what the project is all about, have their say, and enjoy some free activities and entertainment we’re putting on too.

Details for 23rd June’s event – Free Fun For All

The professionals joining us include: Liz Knight-Forage Fine Foods; basket-maker Clyde from Wild Wicker; members of Herefordshire Bee Keepers Association – with hives in tow; Really Rural with their hand-built dens and survival skills; and Brockhampton National Trust Team and Volunteers. Entertaining us are local folkies; Roger Pugh; Huw knight and Viv Bell; and The Orchard Band. And the ladies from Bromyard’s WI will be providing scrumptious cake and tea and coffee.

As well as activities and entertainment, the event is to tell the community more about the Reimagining Orchards project at Brockhampton, and we have some fun, interactive ways for people to share their thoughts once they’ve learnt more, such as; what activities and events people would like to see programmed at Brockhampton in the future; what should the designers consider incorporating into the field design; and ideas for how to use the orchards produce. You can also sign up on the day if you fancy getting involved in the project.

The event runs from 10am to 2pm atBROMYARD PUBLIC HALL on 23rd June, you’re welcome to pop in for a quick chat or stay for the duration. He’s the event link on Facebook:
