Storesbrook bridge RE-OPENING

I am pleased to let you know that Storesbrook Bridge, B4214 between Staplow and Ledbury, will reopen to traffic on Saturday April 13th.

The final part of the work is being carried out on Friday, and once we’ve had confirmation from the contractors we will be able to relay the precise time of opening on our social media feeds @HfdsStreets on Twitter.

We will be carrying out inspections of the surrounding lanes over the next week or so, and will be doing repairs and reinstatements where necessary.

Further to my previous email, we will now able to reopen Storesbrook bridge this afternoon (12th April) at 4.30pm.  Thank you for your patience while we carried out this work

Collapsed footpath – DO NOT USE

Cradley and Storridge parish council wish to alert the public to the fact that the public footpath running from The Old Post Office to Churchstile Farm field and footbridge has collapsed by Chapters.

The council have put up signs saying that the path is closed and the Locality Steward will be putting up further signs and tapping off the area temporarily until Balfour Beatty can repair it.

Please do not use this footpath until it has been properly repaired.

Kind Regards

Kate Joiner

Storesbrook Bridge Update 26th March 2019

I am writing to provide you with a brief update on our work to replace the bridge deck at Storesbrook, near Ledbury.

As you know, work began on site in early January and, overall, it has progressed extremely well, with off-site construction enabling the site to be prepared while the new deck was constructed in a factory and then lifted into place.

Storms Gareth and Hannah caused some weather delays and we’ve also experienced some unexpected working restrictions on site. This means that some steps that we hoped to complete at the same time have had to be re-sequenced one after another. This will take additional time and, while it may have been possible for the team to make up the weather delays, it will not be possible to recover the time for consecutive works.

While an April 5 opening date cannot be achieved, we are optimistic of a mid-April opening of the bridge to traffic. There are a number of weather dependent steps still to complete, including concrete pours and waterproofing, and we hope the weather remains favourable. We will, of course, share the precise opening date with all concerned as soon as it is possible to do so.
